Eagle Ray


Clearyak experience entails:

  • 1 hour

  • You will be fully assisted into your kayak - think concierge kayaking!

  • Slowly paddle the marine reserve to take in all the marine life beneath you (self-guided, maximum 100 metres from shore, no need to go far) 

  • Clearyak team member will be out on a paddle-board if you have any questions about the reef & marine life.  

  • Two person kayaks

  • No kayak experience required

  • One person in each kayak must be able to swim 20+ metres without buoyancy aid & have moderate level of fitness

  • Minimum age 3 yrs

  • Children under 12 yrs must be accompanied by an adult

  • Weight limit 100kg per person (or 200kg total per Clearyak)

  • Perfect for kids & anyone who doesn't want to get in the sea

  • All equipment provided with full safety briefing


Guided Snorkel experience entails:

  • 1.5 hours

  • Dedicated Marine Biologist Guide (English speaking) 

  • You will first learn all about NZ’s unique marine life and then you will snorkel New Zealand’s oldest marine reserve.

  • No snorkel experience required

  • Competence in water & moderate level of fitness required

  • Small groups – max 8 per guide

  • Minimum age 14 yrs

  • All equipment provided (wetsuit, fins, mask, snorkel) with full safety equipment

  • Photos from your day

  • Homemade beachside treat


On our tour of the Matakana region you will enjoy scenery such as beautiful countryside dipping down to the ocean, stunning beaches and local fishing villages. 


Your lunch treat is New Zealand fish! We will visit sleepy fishing village 'Leigh' for delicious fresh-off-the-wharf fish & chips.

Departs Auckland City daily 8.30am/returns 5pm
